How to not go into the friends zone on a date

When a man is speaking with a woman that he wants to be with as boyfriend/girlfriend, it is very important that a man is romantic, loving, affectionate. The man loves her, gives her love.

The man creates a romantic mood of love, kissing, cuddles, hugs.

This is done with the mood, emotions of the man, how he looks at her and behaves towards her, speaks to her etc. He is a lover.

Woman wants a man that loves them, wants them, wants to look after them, thinks they are incredibly beautiful etc.

Also he must be a man and male for her. He must be nice to the lady and treat her like a lady. However he is a potential boyfriend and must act like that, not like a potential female friend for the lady.

Without this it will just be like friends and the man will be a friend, and not become a boyfriend etc. As he is not a male and that is what the woman wants and is attracted to.

Some guys focus on trying to be the woman’s friend, people want friends like themselves, so he ends up acting in a feminine way. You are not being their friend, you are being their boyfriend, a male.

Of course it’s nice for the woman if you are the male version of them.

Identity and spirituality

What a person identifies themselves with is very important.

If a person identifies themselves with their ego, they think that they are separate to everything else, so things are I, me and mine.

It is best to identify yourself with being one with everything else and being one with God.

Then realise that you are one with everything else and one with God.

So you are God and god is you.

You are everything else and everything else is you.
All is one.

To become aware of consciousness, can identify yourself with consciousnes.  Then not so obsessed with your thoughts, emotion and body.

How to make great products

Need to compete with yourself:

You have to be your biggest competitor, not somebody else to compete with you. You have to compete with yourself. If you have a product that is very successful, you have to think immediately what is the next one? Can I do it better? This to a certain extent was the success of Commodore.

Jack Tramiel Commodore Computers.

A great product is you

A product that is a copy of other products is always empty and shallow. To make a great product that cannot be easily copied, have to put you, your heart and soul into it all parts of it. Then you have a product or service that is unique, competitors can never copy you in the product. Then it is not just a commodity that can be copied by others.

Jason Fried and David Heinemeier’s book ‘Rework’

Simple

Great products do a few simple things and do them well. They are easy and fun to use.

Focus on what you are and do

If I creating a product to compete with something else, the competition are setting the rules, parameters and you will be behind them.

Need to look at what problem you are going to solve and solve it, work out the rules for yourself. Then are not being constrained by what others have done and doing.

Is not even about beating the competition, you are doing something separate and different.

if I just copying everyone else, what is the point in your existence.

(Influenced by Jason Fried and David Heinemeier’s book ‘Rework’)

Of course when starting need to learn from others and also learn from others as well, so it is a balance.

Creativity

Creativity is a high spiritual thing. As a result it cannot come from earthly paperwork and management processes which are not of that creative place.

Creativity means coming up with ways and things that did not exist before.

It cannot come from ego which is just about habits.

Selfish people are just focused on getting all they can for themselves so are not creative. To be creative need to be focused on creativity, creativity itself and cannot be for yourself as that pulls it down so no longer on the high creative level.

Creative people come up with things that are on other levels. People who just work really hard and do not use their creativity, cannot do this. Creative people also create ways to get as good results in one tenth of the time and work.

This is why people who just work hard on for example manual labour, cannot get to the levels of creative people. They cannot see or understand what is happening on those levels.

Advertising

Association

People look at what a product is associated with.

A certain Jaguar model in the 60s was driven a lot by East End gangsters. People did not want to buy that car unless they were an East End gangster, because I did not want to be associated with that.

If a product is used by a well respected celebrity, they want it, because then it is associated with that.

Values

Steve Jobs noticed that marketing is about values.

Very hard to be noticed in a noisy world, so need to be clear on what want people to know about you.

Talking about computer speeds and specifications are a waste of time.

Nike adverts just honour great athletes and athletics.  That is who they are and what they are about.  So customers feel something special and not just a shoe company.

They do not mention their products, why their air soles are better than rival’s shoe soles, that they make the commodity of shoes.

As a result his early Apple adverts just showed great people.

So the Apple Computer adverts show who is Apple, what  does it stand for, where fit in the world.

Apples ads showed people who had passion and so has been able to change the world for the better. It touches the soul of the company. That shows what the brand is about.  It honours people both living and dead, who have changed the world.

So the Apple brand is built.

Innovation

Innovative products are discovered

Dr. Land said: “I could see what the Polaroid camera should be. It was just as real to me as if it was sitting in front of me before I had ever built one.”

Both of them (the second Being Steve Job’s about the Macintosh computer), had this ability not to invent products but to discover products. Both of them said these products have always existed—it’s just that no one has ever seen them before. We were the ones who discovered them. The Polaroid camera always existed, and the Macintosh always existed—it’s a matter of discovery.

From ‘Being Steve Job’s boss’ on Blomberg website.

The universe is what the universe is, this is just discovering what can be done in it and what the universe is. They have not created it, it was already there. An idea is a pure thing and then a person runs with it.

Writing

Good writing is about more than words, it is knowing how to communicate.

Making things easy to understand.

A person putting themselves in somebody else and where they are.

Knowing what to omit.

Ability to think clearly.

Writing what is easy for your reader, not what is easy for you.

Share information that is genuinely valuable, then will get a loyal audience that regularly comes back by itself to see what you have to say.

Writers who are more concerned with the equipment and gadgets they use to produce their work, more than what they actually produce, normally produce nothing of value, as they have nothing to say.

(The above was learned from the book ‘Getting Real’, by 37 Signals)

A person never knows if they really understand it, until have to explain it to someone else.

Life is simple, things can be put in one sentence. If not, the person does not understand it, or does not want other people to.

A writer should only write when they have something to say which is if value to others.

Entertaining people

This is written about the average person, of course each individual is different.

Most people read for entertainment, not to learn. That is even so when they read the news. So even learning things have to be entertaining. This can be done with stories, anecdotes, jokes and metaphors.

People do not want to be bothered to read long things, so they have to be short, snappy and amusing. Even long articles need to be broken up into separate sections, each with different titles, icons, images, layouts and so on, to make each section different, fun and short.

Investment evaluation financial ratios

The best ratios to see if a company is good value and will go up in value.

1, Return on assets = assets on balance sheet divided by profits. A high profitability compared to balance sheet, shows are good at getting return on capital.

It can often be seen that the stock market has done this assessment poorly when valuing share prices.

This is from Neil Woodford, who is a value investment fund manager.

2, Cash flow statement: As profit and loss and balance sheets come from accruals accounting, where things are accrued, rather than cash, companies can create all kinds of things using accruals that do not exist.

Examples are invoices which unlikely to be paid, things which on historical value seem valuable but on the market are worth nothing etc.

Cash flow shows if the company is really making money.

3, price earnings ratio (p/e) : company share price divided by it’s profits

4, price earnings growth (PEG): it is from Jim Slater’s book ‘The Zulu Principle’.

Price divided by earnings, eg. £1 share price, divided by £0.05 per year =20.

Then divide by expected growth rate of company, eg. 20 /10% =2.

So a lower end number is better.

The prediction of growth needs to come from it having shown growth, out of at least 4 of the last 5 years.

5, Altman Z score

5, How successful have the managers previously been. Either look at performance where the head managers have been before, or easiest companies where the head staff been there for 5 years or more, so can see their results from that company’s performance.

Best to invest in businesses where head managers tend to stay around, as show they want to grow by getting results and not jumping around to try and get better jobs.

6, Macro economic cycles: Normally about 7 years between boom and bust.

A cycle that was first recorded in the bible over 5700 years ago in the bible and has stood the test of time since. It was mentioned as a dream of Pharaoh, analysed by Moses.

Also using Google Finance to show long term total stock market valuation indecises will help show this.

Concentration

The ability to concentrate makes a person very powerful.

Signs of real concentrating

If a person is concentrating on something properly, then all sorts of other things that they are not concentrating on can happen  and they will not even notice. An could be reading a book and they do not even notice an explosion.

How to concentrate

The first thing is not to be selfish. Being selfish means a person is led astray by whatever  things  appear that they may want. This can make them excessively scared in scary situations,  excessively excited in exciting situations that means they do not concentrate.

Emotions and feelings are essential, they are a person’s energy, what they use to feel on a psychological level etc.

However selfishness can make a person’s emotions  and  feelings so unbalanced in certain directions,  that it will be impossible to concentrate.   For example if someone is excessively excited  about a reward or scarred  of loosing something.

Diplomacy

Diffusing an aggressive situation

To diffuse a person who is being aggressive, need to do the following.

If you are like these things, it will affect the other person.

By you being a certain way, it affects others.

•Act in reasonable way so they feel that, are effected by it and do the same.
•Have a relaxed, easy going and tolerant manner, like everything is fine and nothing to worry about.
•Remain calm

Listen to what they have to say. This is so they do not have to fight to be heard, you can empathise, be sympathetic and compassionate to their situation.

As you are on their side they will appreciate that. You are doing all you can for them.
Give them attention and so look them in the eye.

Be reasonable and say reasonable things.

This means that both parties do all they can to do the best.

By morality being there, people are influenced by it and do the best. By you being moral, it influences and effects others.

However angry and frustrated you are, must not act from that. Need to act from love and giving to others. That is what other people want and to receive, not your frustrations.

A temper is a luxury cannot afford. You are the one that calmly goes in there, points out that both sides want an agreement as they both have things can gain by getting from the other side. War will mean both sides get hurt.

They may be angry with the previous person they were talking to. By talking with you they can start again, there is no loss of pride from backing down as their argument was with a different person.
